Don't forget this is how the exaggerated ban on blood started.

how sad that the witnesses have nothing to celebrate.
the more i think about it since i stopped going to the meetings, the more i feel that spirituality and religion are about opportunities to give thanks and to celebrate life with family and friends.
christenings or name giving ceremonies celebrate the gift of a new life to a family.
excuse me, but this whole pagan crap is driving me nuts.
In order for someone to worship pagan gods with evil rituals such as christmas, birthdays whatever - wouldn't you have to BELIEVE IN PAGAN GODS?
WHO THE HELL BELIEVES IN PAGAN GODS?
obviously Reniaa does and the rest of the scaredy cat JWs.
If they actually believed in their precious bible and the one true god they ALONE worship correctly they'd see that Jehovah himself said there are NO OTHER GODS.
are you calling jehovah a liar?
how can you accidently worship something that you do not believe exists?

regarding celebrations.
I always got the feeling that as more and more prophesies failed (among other wacky jw things were revealed over time), the more people questioned, and little by little disfellowshipping had to be used to control people & information.
Birthdays, Christmas, Mother's day etc are a natural way to bring family and close friends together. In fact, could be an icebreaker that could lead to a breakdown of WT control. Years of shunning a child for example might disappear because of a heartfelt card, a moment of love weakness. "No mom, that's not what happened 20 years ago, this is how it was......
No, no, can't take the chance. holidays are of the devil...

it's her birthday folks ... let her know how you feel !.
.
Wishing you all the best on the anniversary of the day you were born!
i remember thinking growing up that i wasn't sure it was the true religion but because my family were so sure of themselves and so many people believed it that i loved and respected it had to of been the truth.. then, i reasoned that because we were the only ones who fulfilled the preaching work that there was no other way any other religion could be the true religion except us.
plus, we used jehovah's name and didn't take it out of the bible but the preaching work was really the main thing that kept me in.... i was always afraid to really study just the bible because i knew a ton of things might not be right.
otherwise, why would so many jws be afraid to run into a greek scholar out in field service.
They NEVER showed
what a surprise!
this is podcast 8 in the death or obedience series.. this was recorded on christmas day 2008.. after our last visit from two local elders my wife felt she could no longer be known as a jehovah's witness and had chosen to disassociate herself in november 2008.. we had been on a family holiday and had returned to find that one of the local elders who had visited us had warned off my mother-in-law from having anything to do with my wife - her daughter.
he also made false statements about one of my children.. i decided to confront this elder at the kingdom hall.
this podcast is the recording of our conversation.. notice how he denies making such statements to my mother-in-law and falsely accuses me of teaching her beliefs contrary to jehovah's witnesses.. i ask whether it's a sin to no longer be a jehovah's witness?.
I agree.

for me this is the best explanation on the evolution/creation debate.
it really shows the proof that's out there for evolution.. i find it really hard how a person believing in creation can see this and continue to believe it.. this is a series of 15 videos.
well worth the time.. let me here your thoughts.
Yadda
generalizations? hardly, quite a bit of verifiable detail I'd say. One can pause at any point and investigate.
and at the end of the day - creationism is not.
He still left the door open for the belief in god - as the theory of evolution does.
It is not an automatic sentence to a-theism

a must see thanks for posting it.
dear friends,.
sunday i recieved a phone call from my mother who said i had to go get the paper and read the article regarding a local kingdom hall that has been on the market forever.
who ever wrote this must know enough about the witnesses and the judicial meetings in the famous back room or "crying room" the article refers it to!.
hahaha
thats hilarious.
Thats exactly what I think when I see a KH - turn-key church.
